Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions govern the relationship between you (the client) and TanAfrica Safaris. By confirming a booking with us, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms.

1. Booking & Confirmation

A booking is considered confirmed once a deposit of 30% of the total safari cost has been received and acknowledged by our team. The remaining 70% must be paid no later than 30 days prior to the start date of the trip. For bookings made within 30 days of departure, full payment is required at the time of booking.

2. Payment Methods

We accept payments via bank transfer, mobile money (M-Pesa, Airtel Money), or credit card (with a small surcharge). Bank charges and transfer fees are the responsibility of the client.

3. Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made in writing. Refunds are processed as follows:

  • More than 60 days before departure: Full refund minus bank fees
  • 31–59 days before departure: 50% refund
  • 15–30 days before departure: 25% refund
  • Less than 15 days: No refund

Note: Certain third-party costs (e.g., hotels, domestic flights) may be non-refundable based on their own terms.

4. Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that all clients purchase comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation, medical emergencies, baggage loss, and personal liability. TanAfrica Safaris does not provide insurance and is not responsible for any expenses arising from lack of coverage.

5. Changes by TanAfrica Safaris

While we strive to follow the agreed itinerary, we reserve the right to alter routes, accommodation, or services if circumstances beyond our control (e.g., weather, road closures, or wildlife movement) require it. Any changes will be communicated in advance and done in your best interest.

6. Changes by the Client

Changes to confirmed bookings may incur administrative fees and third-party penalties. We will do our best to accommodate requested changes, but availability cannot be guaranteed.

7. Health & Fitness

It is the client’s responsibility to ensure they are medically fit for travel and safaris. Some activities may not be suitable for individuals with health conditions or physical limitations. Please consult your doctor and inform us of any health issues in advance.

8. Responsibility & Liability

TanAfrica Safaris acts as an agent for hotels, airlines, and other service providers. We are not liable for injury, illness, damage, delay, or loss caused by third parties or forces beyond our control (e.g., weather, political unrest, strikes, pandemics). Participation in all activities is at your own risk.

9. Wildlife & Nature

While sightings of wildlife are common, they are not guaranteed as animals roam freely in the wild. Always follow your guide’s instructions and maintain safe distances.

10. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

All disputes shall be governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Any legal claims or actions must be brought within Arusha jurisdiction.

11. Image Use & Privacy

During the tour, we may take photographs or videos for promotional purposes. If you do not wish to appear in any media, please inform your guide at the start of the tour.
